A while back, I posted a message about avgas burning
exhaust valves & was asked why. The T.E.L. (tetryl
ethyl lead) in avgas forms lead salts, lead oxides,
and lead deposites on valve stems, faces and seat
faces. These deposites during operation and idleness
pit seats and valves in short time.
