I'd suggest 1/4" plywood on both sides w/ 1x4 around the perimiter of the windshield frame. Screw the whole thing together with 40 plus #8x1" flat head wood screws and you'll be set. This will make an absolutly secure crate and UPS will have no problem with the size. The frame is TOO valuable to risk damage by skimping on the container!! Good luck from a fellow Canadian.
