Gary, I have a 1993 W250 and I get 17 mpg empty in town and a little better on the highway. However, I have 4.11 gears and drive at the top rpm range on the highway. My sister/brother-in-law had a D250 with higher gears and it got mileage consistent with what the others have reported. I just replaced my manual Getrag 5 speed transmission at 95,000 miles. The manual transmission has been a problem with these trucks. My brother has the new body style and his truck is noticably quieter than my truck. Hope this helps.
