Jeff,

You can expect to pay about $5000-$6000 for a good running truck needing some cosmetic, but not major mechanical help. Prices for "fully restored" trucks vary quite a bit as does the definition of "restored". I might expect to pay between $9000 and $12000 for an average decent restored truck but it really depends on what has, and has not, been done. How much does a house cost? It depends!

I think that a civiliam PW should be able to tow your boat ok, especially if the boat is fitted with electric brakes. PW brakes are not the greatest. Gearing will be a factor in determining speed - PWs often came with 5.85 gearing that slows them down quite a bit, mine has them and is happy at about 38 MPH. Tires also play a part, lots of people here are running Buckshot radials while us throwbacks run military NDTs, radials go faster.

Good luck!

HLJ
