The resistance across the primary windings (with everything disconnected, of course) should be approximately 12 ohms, give or take a bit. I haven't cut the distributor apart, but this resistance may simply be due to the primary coil itself, or possibly some alloy wire used as part of the primary circuit. One of these days, I'll cut one apart to see how it was actually constructed.
