: I recently purchased a 1954 Power Wagon and have many questions, but here are a couple. Both the amp and fuel gauges will not work, I see voltage (fuel) and current (amp) through each where do I find a new set or what I am I doing wrong ??

: Thanks

Tony, Dallas is probably right. On my 48B1pw There were many things that needed attention due to 4-5 yeaars of non usage. Here's a simple but easy to overlook issue: Is your 54 positive ground like my 48? Is the battery therefore in backwards?
It will start and run with the polarity switched. Is the generator polarized? My gas gage didn't work either. I took the sending unit out, and the little copper ground contact that swings on the arm wasn't making contact with the body due to rust.
Gently lift the contact and grind the rust out with a dremmel and voila!
I also disassembled all the switches. Lights, etc, as they were quite dried out. Over time the micarta backing plates shrink. This loosens the rivets holding the contacts, allowing the switck to burn up. Solder the rivets to the contact flags. Re grease the guts.
These old trucks are simple, but need a lot of time just cleaning up electrical connections.
