: I've owned my beloved Power Wagon Since 1971 and its finally ready for a rebuild. Would like to go for a few more horses but is it worth the hassle of converting to a big block from the current old style 318? I'd appreciate any imput, Thanks
Russ, I have a 64 W100 Town Wagon with the Poly 318 and I've been looking for more horses and torque too. Mine has a factory(?) 4bbl manifold with a C3
Carter. I picked-up a used Weiand maifold and am planing to put a Holly on it. Weiand has this manif.in stock! It's got duals with cherry bombs on it,
with stock manif. as custom $800 custom headers are all I can find so far. Jacobs energy core plug wires and coil were a very good investment (about 15 hp worth)
With all of this I estimate 260hp and 340ft lbs of torque. Cars of this era have a 9.5:1 compression vs a trucks 8.25: 1 and more hp stock. A clutch or electric
fan is also under consideration. Give me a call 303 444 2787(w) 303 447 3468(h). Good Luck!
