: Just how many diff. models of pws are there? I have a 59 pw that looks like a pickup, but I've seen a pic of a 59 that looks like the old military vehicles. Is there a book or something that tells about all of the diff. models?
The "original" Power Wagon was produced between 1946 and 1968. The bodies on those trucks are essentialy the same, with only minor modifications through the years. (i.e. my 1968 WM300 is almost identical to a 1946 WDX). These are civilian trucks purchased at your local Dodge dealer, and have the words "POWER WAGON" on the hood. They look like the old military vehicles you mention. In 1957 Dodge introduced another Power Wagon, like the kind you have, in various sizes with a "W" distinction. Like W100 W200 etc. The standard catalog of 4x4 shows all pictures of these models, along with tech specs. If you go into the "Book & Magazines" section, and click on bookstore at the top of the page, you can get to the book and order it on-line through Amazon. The picture of the cover is there also if you want to get it at your local bookstore.
