Yes, my 540 transmission is an overdrive version. The New Process 540, 541, and 542 5 speed transmissions seem like the best choice for overdrive in a Power Wagon. They came in large trucks, Dodge, Chevy and probably others, typically a dump truck or something. Most were direct drive but can be changed to overdirve by swapping gears. I believe they are shorter than the current NP 4500, which probably is too long without moving the PW transfer case back.
