: I've got a nice '66 WM300 that has developed an expensive sounding klunk in the lower end. Before it fails catastrophically, I am considering tearing it down for a look-see. What is the best/easiest way to get the 251 out of the chassis? And back in again?

Pull the radiator shell and front fenders off. You can pull these as a unit, but then you'll need a hoist. I pull them separately. With these off you have plenty of working room. I understand that you can pull the engine and tranny together, but I always drop the tranny out the bottom first. Good luck!
