I though about this option as well, but to date have not
done anything in the way of a swap or overddrive
unit.

I was looking thru my 1950's Chrysler truch shop
manual, which covered all of the truck lines including
the over the road and service route trucks.

It seams that Dodge made a 5-speed overdrive enginwe back then
and was biolted to the flathead 6. I saw an old
route van last year in a South Carolina junk yard
and it definately had a different (larger) tranny in there,
so it may have been one of those 5 speeds.
Anyway, at some point in the future, I may continue
with this possibility of gaining some road speed

Anyone out there know anymore about a 5 speed
overdrive tranny that was put in older dodge trucks?
