: On my '75 Dogde I have a set of 15"x10" American Racing white spoke wheels. They have about 30,000 miles on them and the original tires (33x12.50x15). I recently installed a new set of tires on the wheels and discovered that every wheel was bent! They required 6.5 to 10 oz of lead to balance each one! This truck weighs about 6000 lbs, I have twice hauled 1500 to 2000 punds of gravel in the truck, I occassionally tow a lite trailer, and regularly do some mild 4-wheeling. Does this kind of activity regularly bend wheels??

I drove a 76 Chevy 3/4 ton for a few years with aftermarket spokes
It was used for towing, fencing, and other semi-severe farm and ranch
duty. These wheels did not bend but they did crack where the spokes
were welded to the rims. After getting rewelded several times, they
were junked in favor of stock-type solid wheels
I would think that on a truck like yours, bending from use like you
describe would be quite possible.
Dave
