: : I started to rebuild my 318 Poly that had that had jumped a
: : few teeth on the timing chain when I came across a good 14,000
: : mile 440 for $200. Now I just have to find a big block bellhousing
: : that is the hydraulic clutch type to make it fit. The whole clutch
: : system is new; master, slave, lines, clutch, bearing, so, it's
: : pretty clear why I want to keep the manual tranny. Any help would
: : be appreciated. I'm in CT so something in the New England area
: : would be best, but will look elsewhere to find this part if needed.

: : I,ve been in search of one myself for a 413 I'd like to put in my
: 1956 P.W. I've heard they might be found in older RV's but many were
: automatics. It would be a good thing to compare notes with you on
: putting the 440 in your rig. Are you going to put disc brakes in it
: with all that H.P.?

as a matter of fact i am looking for a disk brake conversion
kit for the rear dana 60 & the front dana 44, but thats only secondary
right now. my priorities are to get it to connecticut so i can finish the
engine and then find a bellhousing(still looking)
more later, gotta go :)
