Very true. If you have front lock out hubs you won't know anything is wrong until you lock them in. When in poor traction conditions where the front and rear can spin at different speeds all will be OK, but on firmer surfaces, partial snow cover on the roadway you can tear up a transfer case real quick. Also don't put different size tires on the front and rear -- it does the same thing. Even as much as 1 inch in height is over 3 inches in diameter and can wind up a transfer case and tear it up.
