Thanks Gerry Zell for your fuel level assembly post - I'll be able to use it right after I swap out the small, leaky tank (I can only get 7 or 8 gallons in the @#$!! tank) on my politically incorrect 10 MPG, but FUN AS HELL, '65 W100 Town Wagon. We also have an '89 Dodge Ram Van 250 with optional 35 gallon tank - the width looks good, but the too much height. Both tanks are in the rear of the vehicle, but the TW is a rear filler & the van a side filler.

A couple of questions for the experts...

1. Anybody have gas tank swap info or know of a resource. I would like to put 25+ gallon tank on the beast. Is it possible to change filler neck locations on plastic compound "newer" tanks (suspect NOT) ???

2. May have to resort to custom & extra $$$. What type of metal should they use ??? Any special treatments or coatings required ??? Other considerations ??? Is there a chapter in a book about this ??? Other resources ???

Appreciate ANY insight y'all can share - I'm spending too much time at the pumps !!!
