: : : I recently aquired a M-37 and have no idea how to tell what
: : : year it is. Can anyone help me? Also, has anyone ever heard of
: : : an M-37 with 16.5 inch rims? I didn't think they existed
: : : but that is what is on this truck. The rims look identical
: : : to the ones on my 1949 B-1 but have 16.5 inch tires on them!
: : : Anyone have any thoughts on this?

: DANGER !! FIND OUT WHAT SIZE RIMS YOU HAVE. CHECK THE LOCK RING NEAR WERE IT SPLITS MOST SAY (BUD 6.5X16 ON WHEELS FOR THE 3/4 TON MIL.,M-37, AND THE P.W., AND 5.5X16 FOR THE 1/2 TON MIL.). I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN 16.5 SPLIT RIM , THE 16.5 CAME MUCH LATER AND THE TIRES I BELEAVE ARE ALL TUBELESS. I WOULD ASSUME THE HIGHER THAN MOST FLANGE WOULD KEEP A 16.5 ON THE WHEEL, BUT I WOULD NOT WANT TO TRY. IF THEY THERE ARE TUBELESS WHEELS ,THEN SOMEONE HAS CUT THE CENTERS OUT AND WELDED IN CENTERS OUT OF P.W. RIMS. I HAVE SEEN THIS DONE WITH 20 INCH RIMS. BE CAREFUL !!!
Posted by Jr Tucker Tucker Tire Co I have seen 16.5 tires mounted on 16 inch wheel and have seen them run for miles but there is a good possibilty they may blow off the wheels when being installed BE CAREFUL SAVE MONEY ON TIRES EMAIL JR at tyres4u@webtv.net
