:
: : I recently aquired a M-37 and have no idea how to tell what
: : year it is. Can anyone help me? Also, has anyone ever heard of
: : an M-37 with 16.5 inch rims? I didn't think they existed
: : but that is what is on this truck. The rims look identical
: : to the ones on my 1949 B-1 but have 16.5 inch tires on them!
: : Anyone have any thoughts on this?

DANGER !! FIND OUT WHAT SIZE RIMS YOU HAVE. CHECK THE LOCK RING NEAR WERE IT SPLITS MOST SAY (BUD 6.5X16 ON WHEELS FOR THE 3/4 TON MIL.,M-37, AND THE P.W., AND 5.5X16 FOR THE 1/2 TON MIL.). I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN 16.5 SPLIT RIM , THE 16.5 CAME MUCH LATER AND THE TIRES I BELEAVE ARE ALL TUBELESS. I WOULD ASSUME THE HIGHER THAN MOST FLANGE WOULD KEEP A 16.5 ON THE WHEEL, BUT I WOULD NOT WANT TO TRY. IF THEY THERE ARE TUBELESS WHEELS ,THEN SOMEONE HAS CUT THE CENTERS OUT AND WELDED IN CENTERS OUT OF P.W. RIMS. I HAVE SEEN THIS DONE WITH 20 INCH RIMS. BE CAREFUL !!!
