Message:   I have a Caliber SXT that I bought in July of 2006 when they first came out. It has a 1.8 engine with a 5 speed stick, and I would suggest that maybe you would be better off with the 2.0 engine as the 1.8 is weak and gets horrible gas mileage(have never gotten above 30mpg on trips)It is an ok car but the gearing in it is strange at 70mph on the Interstates in 5th gear the engine is running at 3,000 rpm, Have you thought of a PT Cruiser? it has a 2.4 engine in it and I think the gas mileage moight be a little better.
If you want to know any more just ask
