Message:   I am doing a rolling bed off refurb/resto on my 61 D300, slant 6, 9 foot utiline that was formerly a Henkels & McCoy truck in Idaho. (See Registry)
I did an inframe rebuild onthe slant 6 to buy me time to build my poly for it. Took it for a spin today and was amazed at the zip the slant six had! I thought it would accelerate like a lumbering giant. My 82 W150 with SL6 would not keep up with this D300. Must be the big exhaust and 4.88AS diff? Handles great, all suspension and steering is tight, factory power brakes work great! With the 19.5 rims it will be fine on the highway. I still might put in my brownie aux for the OD. a great day!
