Hey Justin, maybe you can sign up for a local welding class and take the tailgate to class with you. They'll probably have a plasma cutter and modern mig welder. This way, you can learn and get her done all at the same time (under the guidance of a pro) and it should be much cheaper than taking it to a regular commercial shop.
