Subject:   gas cap question

Message:   Im in need of a new cap. Gas will seep out of my old one when ever the tank is more than half full, fumes become so bad im close to driving my truck wearing a respirator. Im not getting far with my local parts store. I did find a so called replacement but its cheap, didnt do the job of stopping the spillage, and its not a stainless steel cap, its cheap chrome that started to rust quickly.

Am I correct that our tanks do not have a vent in the system and they are vented through the cap??

Do the caps have one way valves in them to let the tank vent but prevent gas from coming out?

Does any one have a sorce to get a high quality stainless steel cap?

Thanks all.
