Subject:   I think I messed up

Message:   I noticed that my door weather stripping didn't seal good at the top rear of the drivers door. I was just looking at an upper door frame that I have left over from my restoration, (no, I didn't forget to put it back on, it's an extra) and I noticed that the weather stripping is on backwards to the way I put the new ones on my truck. I put the long part towards the outside, but after looking at this door frame I think that's backwards. If you look at yours you will know what I'm talking about. Boy, do I feel stupid.
My doors were apart for almost two years, and also, the guy I bought it from had used some universal cheap stuff that didn't look like the original, so I'll use that for my excuse, LOL.
It's not urgent that change them since they do seal pretty good now, and I keep it in the garage so it won't get rained in. I also need the little rubber bumper that goes in the back of the door just inside the accent line. Has anyone gotten a new one of those, and if so, do you know the p/n so that I can order that along with a new set of door seals. Also, what's a good way to get the black weatherstrip glue off the door when I do change them? Does 3M make a remover that won't hurt the paint?
I'm only admitting to this dumb mistake to try to prevent anyone else from doing it, not that anyone else would, mind you.
