I have a 01 and the thing has been great since I bought it in 2004 with 37,000 it now has 89,000 and still going strong. Mine needs an exhaust and a new AC compressor, but aside from that I just change the oil, plugs, etc. and it goes. My Fiance has a 2000 and her's it just as good.
Chrysler just issued a recall on mostly all Jeeps from the late 80's to 01 to replace the cats due to the ceramic loosening and causing rattling and droaning through the exhaust.
I'll get the e-mail and post it to anyone interested if they own Jeeps.



2001 XJ Cherokee:
4" SkyJacker suspension lift, Stock control arms, 1" tranny lowering block, Dick Cepek FC II 31x10.50's on Cragar white spokes, 8 1/4" rear 3.55 gears, Dana 30 front. Duetsch shocks, all stock everywhere else. 19mpg highway 16-17mpg city and it "Get's Over It" on the trails too.
