Message:   A friend of mine, who is also an independent, one man mechanic shop, and I were looking at an old Saginaw power steering unit out of a Chevy P/U. He thinks with some minor modifications that it would work on my W300. We would have to modify the Pitman Arm, mount the unit ahead of the front axle housing, outside of the frame, and add a u-joint and shaft extension to the steering column. The Pitman Arm would have to be modified and, obviously, the drag link, since the factory box is behind the front axle. You might want to look into this and see what you think. JH
