Message:   Power steering for Swepts has been discussed many, many times. There is currently no adequate power steering systems for the Swepts. The original optional power steering was actually a power assist. They are prone to leaking. It is expensive to have new hoses made for them and even after that many folks say that they will likely leak again soon. I have 3 factory Sweptline power assist systems that I'd let go for $150 each. They will need to be rebuilt as they were taken off used trucks.

There was a Canadian company ProtoTech that for a short time manufactured a true power steering conversion kit that included a steering gear housing c/w new seals, adapter bracket, pitman arm and grade 8 fasteners. It was based of a Ford box I think. Anyway, that company stopped making them due to insurance reasons. People that were lucky and got one all seem to be very happy.

There is a rumor (hint, hint) that Norm possibly may be making a DTA version power steering system even better than the ProtoTech. If there is enough interest and if he is able to sell 10 more header sets he might take on the power steering project.
