Message:   Excuse me, mental typo: that's regulator, not resistor.

If you read through those MAD Electric tech pages and Richard Ehrenberg explanations you'll see the problem with Mopar gauge clusters: the ampere gauge. That's the system circuit that can smoke the whole dash's electrical and can cause interior fires and potentially the destruction of vehicle.

The fix, for the protection of the electrical system, is to lose the amp gauge wiring completely, as explained in those various tech pages. When you see problems like a pegged ampere gauge it's a possible indication that you are right on the edge of frying the whole electrical system. Only takes one grounded wire, or no grounded wire, to take the whole system out!

I could have posted 8 or 10 different posts with single Dodge links but thought some might want a copy with all in the same place for quick and easy reference. I usually get some kind of flack every time I mention this Dodge/Mopar electrical problem so it doesn't bother me anymore. Hoping some guys out there will read and fix the problem instead of finding a smoked dashboard or pile of burnt metal at the side of the road.
