Message:   The "oil companies" no longer control production or the cost. OPEC controls production rates, commodities traders control the price, based upon that production. Our oil companies are just buyers and refiners, they no longer control the production, If they bid $50 a barrel and china bids $51, guess what, that oil goes to china not the USA, that is why the prices are high right now, economics, not the oil boogieman. Prices may come down, they may continue to go up, but the bottom line is; whining about it won't change what happens upon the world market, but individual action can.
Revolutions in product and technology come from the market place, driven by consumers, not by regulation driven from government.
There are very few sources of cooking oil left that have not already been snapped up by guys using it for bio diesel.
Enterprising guys, over the last few years, have started waste hauling and recycling business based upon this very concept.
There are mom and pop bio diesel factories all across the US and plenty of folks running bio and SVO (straight veggie) in their trucks.
You can go to COSTCO right this morning and buy a gallon of Canola oil and run it in a diesel, just like it comes out of the bottle.
I wouldn't be surprised if Terry isn't doing some of that....
