Message:   They are not differentiated by the type of engine they are behind. Both A and LA motors will fit in front of any year's flywheel, clutch and bell. For example, the $19,000 64 below has an LA engine in front of a hydro bell (which some incorrectly call a "poly" bell). As John said, the pressure plate is different in a later mech clutch truck than in a wet clutch truck.
