Message:   I don't want to start something (well maybe I do...ha!ha!)....
but if the 440 had the Poly heads, it would be twice the motor the wedge head 440 is.
I posted some numbers awhile back, that I received from Gary Pavlovich, (I'm going to have to search the archives) that I sent to Robin. It showed a Poly powered car being beaten in the quarter mile, by a 440 powered car, by less than a 1/10th of a second. I don't know what cars they were and what weight and I don't drag race, but I can say that a 318A than can run with a 440 deserves some respect as a daily driver. It has the highest HP and torque number for any small displacement motor and gets great fuel economy while doing it.
It why the new "Hemi's" are really Poly heads...
