Message:   This has been an interesting thread.
I also was taught that current flow is neg to pos, and I still consider it that way, but they are now teaching pos to neg. I was taught that current was electron flow but I think that they now teach something different and refer to it as conventional(?) current flow as opposed to electron flow. This is only to clarify the neg to pos current flow comment before that subject erupts into a full blown argument.
Russ, (other Russ) I don't know why the spark appeared larger when you disconnected the pos cable first. As I mentioned before, I haven't experimented with this, and don't plan to, so I'll take your word for it. The one thing that I do know is that when battery current is being drawn, it will be equal in both cables. That is absoulute and unchangeable.
