like Jimmie D said in the other post you may simply have the linkage adjustment off.

is it a stock column shifter or an aftermarket setup?

is the truck on the ground or in the air? (eg - are the wheels spinning freely or are they on the ground ready to roll)

what are the specs of the tranny?

do you have a high stall converter in it?

is it a reverse valve body?
