Message:   Gary, when bolting up a 727 to an engine you slip the converter in and turn it until it slides all the way in the pump. It should be an inch or more below the level of the front of the tranny. Then you bolt it up and slide the converter forward until you can bolt it to the flexplate. If you didn't install it that way you can seriously damage the tranny. It might be worth unbolting the converter from the flexplate and see if you can slide it into the tranny. If there's any doubt that you installed it that way you should not run the engine any more until you check it.
