Message:   Sounds like you've got the special order / option 'Progressive Rate Springs' there, John! the center bracket is a full travel stop for axle, and the end brackets come into effect if the truck is heaviliy loaded. Should be a second spring pack on top of the main pack, that when heavily loaded the extra-overloads are contacted by brackets to help support the load.

This was so a guy could have a nice riding truck, not too harsh and choppy, but it could still handle a serious load if needs be. My Town Wagon has Progressive Rate option on it.
