Message:   crawling under my mostly "put back together" '61 d100 with a 225, i noticed something strange. the pinion of the starter is engaged with my flywheel. i have no wires or power to it yet. thinking that is just where it flopped when putting it back in, i took a screwdriver and pushed it away from the flywheel. when i took the screwdiver away, it popped (feels spring loaded) back to engage the flywheel. this is confusing me since all my experience has been with gm type starters that aren't like this.. what am i missing?
