Message:   Hey, Britt, I ran into that problem on the Town Wagon. My solution was to replace the original cab headliner with a formed steel piece, and then to fabricate an overhead console in the forward section of cab roof. It takes the radio out of eyesight of thieves who look in to the normal places and also keeps it up out of the way from contamination.

I used a piece of 1" square tubing as the bottom brace, back closest to your head, and then enclosed the bottom from there forward with sheet metal. With the steel headliner in place I was able to come up vertically from that cross brace and place small corner brackets in headliner and then enclose the front face area, closest to your head, with 3 pieces of aluminum sheet. There's cutouts in the aluminum cover on each side for storage. It's some work but the results are worth it.
