Message:   i have been trying to get the hydraulic clutch to work on my '61 d100 with a 225. i bought a new master and slave cylinder. after bleeding and with the rod on the slave cylinder shortened,, i get decent movement out of the slave. when i adjust the rod out so that it will push on the throwout bearing, it doesn't seem to have enough pressure to push it. i assume that the master is bad, but it was new, not rebuilt, which concerns me. i guess i have several questions: 1. when at rest, how much clearance should the throwout bearing have to the fingers on the pressure plate? approximately how much should the rod on the slave cylinder travel? if the slave was bad, wouldn't it leak fluid to the outside? when pumping the pedal, i hear a suction sound from the master as i let off of the pedal. is that normal? any other ideas?
