Message:   Hmmm, gotta disagree, but not from my own information or knowledge. From what I've read in pretty reliable sources, I think Panic is one, and another Mopar forum sticky and knowledgeable feedback, the original design was laid out for a high rpm potential in a [then] large displacement engine. Kiekoffer took advantage of this and blew away ALL the competition.

Mopar was looking at racing right from the start with the Hemi and wanted a design with high output potential. Because of their superior engineering they were able to come up with a design that would adequately power a pickup or truck with good torque, liven up a grocery getter, push a land yacht or win world's records across the board. Near genius, but supposedly the last was the original target: world's records and HUGE top end. Again, that's what I've read, not what I know from experience.
