Thanks for the warning; I am aware of the rubber and have been proceeding carefully (i.e. low heat). Seeing the exterior rubber is cracked makes me wonder if it is going to fly anyhow. Still, it seems solid... How do you tell, except to run it and see if it thumps?

There was enough rust behind the washer to make me think this would be a harder pull than not.

Dropped the hammer, digging out the puller.

Any thought on the valve tool?
