Subject:   What does Christmas mean to you?

Message:   "Family and friends will sustain you much more than any materialism that you are trying to obtain." A friend of mine said that some time ago, I wrote it down and keep it on my desk. The commercialism of Christmas irritates me each year, but I don't let it steal my joy. All the merchants want you to buy CHRISTMAS presents but they are afraid to use the word. To be PC, we are buying HOLIDAY presents to put under the HOLIDAY tree to open on HOLIDAY morning. But the ultimate irony comes from a church down the road from my house....their sign out front actually says HAPPY HOLIDAYS....unbelievable. As my 3 children grew up, my wife and I would make the month of December a 31 day celebration of Jesus' birth. We had planned activities throughout the month. They are young adults now and they maintain that tradition. But unfortunately, too many Americans regard Christmas as buying and getting presents...period. That makes the aclu (i will not dignify it with caps) and other groups very happy. A long time ago Terry wrote in a post that this generation is just waiting for us to die off so then, there will be no one left who knows how things are supposed to be. I never forgot his words because they are so very true. Terry, do you remember writing that? Do I want things for Christmas?? Absolutely! I want my wife to get well enough for the doctor to let her out of the hospital in time for Christmas. I want my children and I to be able to cook as nice a Christmas dinner as she would, for her. I want every soldier to be home with his family. I want SKULL to be free of back pain. And I want to thank Norm for this forum. It is the most amazing thing...people I've never met (except for Russ) I consider my friends!! I wish all of you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
