Message:   I would say that they are exactly as you describe them. The Parts Book for 1969-71 lists only (2) 16" rims for the 8-lug type. One is 5 1/2" wide, the other 6" wide. Interestingly enough, the wider rim takes the "Baby Moon" type cap, either painted Aluminum, or chrome-plated. This same Baby Moon also fits 17" x 5 1/2" and 17 1/2" x 5 1/4" rims.

I was toying with the idea of using the typical DODGE rim with the (4) lugs around the raised-center that holds the dog dish style caps with the flutes and DODGE trident in the center of the cap. These were grey painted or chrome plated from the factory. The newer rims are also 6 1/2" wide, not 5 1/2". Hopefully they would not rub the tie rod.

Thanks for your info,

FRANK

PS. I made the I-H comment in jest.
