Message:   A recent article in Mopar Collectors Guide quoted a guy who worked on the Dodge car production line in the 60's and 70's. He said if they ran out of a certain part they just used what they had. I have long felt that this was the case on the truck production lines, probably even worse than the car lines. I have a 69 truck sales brochure and it pictures a 69 Adventurer long bed truck with the holes. There is a section on Camper Specials and none of them have the holes. In Don Bunn's Dodge truck book, all the 69 and later Adventures are long beds and have the holes. In the other Dodge truck book, Dodge Truck Color History, there is a 69 Custom short bed with factory air, and it appears that it doesn't have the holes. There is also a pic of a 70/71 Adventurer long bed with the holes.
My parts book agrees with Frank's, but to add a little mistery to this topic, could they have only come on long bed trucks? Does anyone have a short bed truck with them?
