Message:   LA had more plants than Detroit* until WWII.
* Michigan had more plants by far, but not all plants were in 'Detroit proper'.
Check the Dodge-Link. Studebaker production in LA ended at or around 1956. The 1956 Golden Hawk was built there so it may have 1957 when it closed, but I remember it well. Studebaker Road is still a main drag in Southern LA County.
