Message:   Thanks so much for your direction, I'm going to go this way and use the 75 frame and body, I will build a new rad as I don't want to change the look of the truck, I love the old style muscle Mopar hood line.

What's your take on the frame of the 75 being ok with Cummins weight?

To me it all looks fine, in fact the 75 looks meatier in places. Some of the other forum guys on the net are saying the 75 is not up to the Cummins as Dodge had problems themselves with the frames in the early 1 gen 4x4 Cummins truck! It looks like I could tig up the front end with structural improvements and use the 92 springs, I ordered new 92 front springs already.

My 75 has huge brakes, I think they are bigger than the 92, one piece 16.5” 8 lug wheels and strong parts, do you guys know if the wheel bearing and spindle size in the 75 is up to it? That said this is basically a highway pavement rig only anyway. I’m not rock crawling or 4x4 in this truck.

Thanks again.

Reg

P.S

I owned a 1968 D100 back in the late 70’s, It came of my uncles farm and needed lots of fixing. It had an 8:34 4:10 Posi, had a wide block 318 that was worn out, I put a 340 six pack 4 spd in it from a crashed Cuda that an employee of Patrick Dodge parts department in Saskatoon had. The truck was very quick I ripped up the streets in Saskatoon with it. My only problem was clutches and getting the hood to line up at the back edge, I never got it worked out, it always stood high in the back. A lot of them did that in our area, may have been a Canadian assembly mess up. Drove me crazy. I will look back sometime in my slides for pictures of this old truck.
