Message:   The data plate gives me a stamped build date of 08/68 under where it says Build Date.

As to the data line which on mine was unreadable. If I knew it said H.P. I would have known what 1990 4400 meant even though the (a) read as an 0.

I reckon that tells me what I have been asking as to line 4.

I agree that it came from the factory with a 383. If I could have read that #4 line I would not have kept my inquiry going. Not every data plate is easily readable even if a person funtions quite well, Thanks for the info. Gordo
