Message:   It tend to agree with you Jimmy about the body calk and
welds that they used in those days, all models,
including cars.
Leaking wiper pivots are very common on the cars
as they come though the fire wall.

On the D and W cabs the roof/drip-rail seam is filled
with calk and over the years it often comes out
and starts to leak down the door/WS pillers (pretty
common in A100 vans to see rusted out pillers).
The drain holes also have filler in them for the cowl, right were they exit the fire wall, seen many
rusted out right there.... and yes the welded seam
for the cowl sheet metel to the fire wall has always
been a weak spot.

I don't know the Towns as well, so I will leave it
