Message:   Because you've done all those hotrod crazy modifications the best way is with a vacuum gauge. Just hook up to a manifold port and adjust the timing to highest vacuum then peel a little off, like retard a couple of degrees from highest vacuum.

Be careful of leaky headers, it's possible to contribute to burned exhaust valves. A cheap fix is to drop the header, carefully remove the header gaskets and wrap them in half a dozen wraps of aluminum foil. Trim out the holes with a sharp knife and bolt them back up. There's some pretty good gaskets on the market nowadays too. Which engine?
