Message:   Run this through the pipes, kiddies:

Crankcase oil has a fairly high acidic content in addition to certain complexities of metallic compounds. In the marine world there is a large problem with electrolytic destruction of metals. In order to overcome that marine problem a sacrificial anode of Zinc is used to protect metals through galvanic actions. So, what about tossing a sacrificial zinc anode into the oil pan, where the acids and galvanic action might liberate it into particulate to return the lost zinc to the lubrication system?
