Message:   Hi Derek!
The most common reason a cab doesn't line up is the the dreaded rusted front cab mounts (huh FrankyB!)
Water leaks past old and hardened windshield rubber and gets down into the "A" Pillar and floor pan. Dodge used a very innovative, soundproofing, rubber floor pad that, unfortunately trapped water like a sponge. Many, many floors rusted out, right at the front cab mount location.
VPW makes replacement floor pans, but it could be a big deal, depending upon how bad the damage is. It really takes a close visual inspection to determine.
Also, the truck may have a '68 grill, but it's not a '68 hood, so I don't know exactly what is going on there.
It may be a great but, or it may be a cobbled together mess.
The drive train on the 60's is bullet proof. NP201 transfer and NP435 transmissions, behind the awesome 318 Poly, until 1967 and big blocks and NP205's in later versions.
