Message:   Jimmie, I believe u were refering to the "Solargizer" unit. They also have a plug in version. It keeps the battery from sulphating by pulse charging at very low rates while stored and/or in slow speed driving conditions such as daily commute hell.
Russ, are u sure the battery is in good shape? I park my Alaska car every year in Sep, leave it sit outside, buried in snow until I get back in May or June and it has always started up easily without charging the batt. That's NINE months below zero and holding a charge just fine.
