Message:   Very VERY well said! BTW I meant no offense with my comments, and didn't make clear: I ain't talking about folks around here! Thank God there's still a truly loyaly following of guys and gals genuinely caring about preserving and updating some of the best trucks ever produced!

In my own case I've been restoring my TW for 30 years, 2 complete restos and 1 recent mechanical. On one hand I really regret destroying its original design and character, pulling the entire Poly drivetrain and several other 'updates'. It's still unique but little of the original truck remains except body. On the plus side I now have a truck I can drive to the end of the road, and afford to drive, and hand it on to a good Dodge LOVING friend after that. Plus it's faithfully made all those miles in between!

It had already made it to the wrecking yard after only 10 years of brutally hard use in a harsh body-eating environment! About 386K when I bought it and I've turned the speedo over 6+ more times! It's still rough, needs more bodywork, more new glass, another interior, real paint etc.

But you know what? It's READY TO ROCK! California to New York State & back? NO PROBLEM HAH! It too is a good and faithful friend, very dear to me, and if I hadn't done what I had to do rebuilding & updating & improving, well.....? Even the refrigerators it would have been crushed to make would be long worn out by now.
